Save Button
I would like to suggest a save button be physically present on the toolbar to make saving easy but also as a reminder to users to press it frequently.
33 votesHi All,
We are considering autosave feature. We already have ctrl+s to save the project.
Please let me know in case autosave feature will be more feasible rather than having save button on the top.

Change default formatting for objects
Unless I am missing something, there doesn't appear to be any way to change the default formatting for objects like Highlight boxes, Instruction boxes, etc. Or, to easily create multiple slides with consistant font formatting without manually choosing the same Preset (or custom preset). The Copy Appearance feature is not an acceptable replacement for that ability. I don't want to have to click dozens or hundreds of objects to copy formatting.

Course loading progress indicator.......
When a user starts a course, it would be helpful to show a loading progress indicator in the browser to show that the course is loading. In Captivate 12, there is only a blank screen. There is nothing to show the user that is something is happening until the course finally loads and is displayed.
I have attached 2 files.
1. Captivate2019 which shows the loading progress indicator
2. Captivate12 which just shows a blank screen in the new Captivate version.2 votes -
Ability to undock panels.
Would like the ability to undock and move the timeline panel, or any panel, to a custom location on my screen or to a separate display. Currently, I can only view Captivate on one monitor and when the timeline is expanded I lose a lot of screen real estate. In Cp Classic, I could undock and move the timeline, library, and many other panels wherever I wanted and save that layout for future projects.

Check for update
In Adobe Captivate, the only way to check the version and/or see if there is an update is to create a new project; or open a new project. It would be nice to be able to do the same in the home screen.

add layering text on top of images and images on top of text.
I wanted to layer text on top of an image but for the text be more formatted to the right of the image. Even with the workaround and padding, I cannot get my text to the far right of the image.

Ctrl+Z
Ctrl+Z doesn't work in French version. It shows "Save and quit" window, but it doesn't cancel the previous action. We need to clic on Modify Menu and Cancel (Menu Modifier et Annuel").

Touch screens
I know that Captivate Classic never has enabled the possibilities of touch screens, but for an application created from scratch, ignoring this is a pity. Why cannot I rearrange the actions in an interaction by dragging? The Up/Down arrow are not functional to rearrange the actions within one interaction. The old iPad app could use a touch screen, on my Surface Pro I only have difficulties within this new version. I can accept that for the canned templates and blocks, but not for something like actions in an interaction.

Allow Captivate 2019 project files to be backward compatible with Adobe Captivate 2024 Application.
Allow Captivate 2019 project files to be backward compatible with Adobe Captivate 2024 Applications.
Problem: You cannot read Captivate Classic files (.CPTX) with the newer versions of Captivate that use (.CPT) file extension.
Method:
1. Open Adobe Captivate Classic 2019
2. Open or create a new project file
3. Save the project file, (.CPTX) file extension- Open Adobe Captivate 2023
- Open the saved project file
- Look for files with .CPTX) 6a. CP 2023 will not allow .CPTX files to be opened (Read, Write, Edit)
Result: Failed to open CP Classic 2019 files with anything newer than CP 2021 that only…
