  1. Save Button

I would like to suggest a save button be physically present on the toolbar to make saving easy but also as a reminder to users to press it frequently.

  2. Change default formatting for objects

Unless I am missing something, there doesn't appear to be any way to change the default formatting for objects like Highlight boxes, Instruction boxes, etc. Or, to easily create multiple slides with consistant font formatting without manually choosing the same Preset (or custom preset). The Copy Appearance feature is not an acceptable replacement for that ability. I don't want to have to click dozens or hundreds of objects to copy formatting.

  3. Right click on block and select move to reposition

Sometimes, selecting and moving blocks to other positions is challenging, especially when you want to move a block to the end of a slide. It would be helpful to right-click on an empty area of a block, select Move, and then use the keyboard cursor arrows to move a block up or down.

  4. Ability to undock panels.

Would like the ability to undock and move the timeline panel, or any panel, to a custom location on my screen or to a separate display. Currently, I can only view Captivate on one monitor and when the timeline is expanded I lose a lot of screen real estate. In Cp Classic, I could undock and move the timeline, library, and many other panels wherever I wanted and save that layout for future projects.

  5. Check for update

In Adobe Captivate, the only way to check the version and/or see if there is an update is to create a new project; or open a new project. It would be nice to be able to do the same in the home screen.

  6. Course loading progress indicator.......

When a user starts a course, it would be helpful to show a loading progress indicator in the browser to show that the course is loading. In Captivate 12, there is only a blank screen. There is nothing to show the user that is something is happening until the course finally loads and is displayed.
    I have attached 2 files.
    1. Captivate2019 which shows the loading progress indicator
    2. Captivate
12 which just shows a blank screen in the new Captivate version.

  7. Splash Screen on Startup Covers Everything on My Computer

In most other Adobe Apps, the splash screen on start up (the loading screen with artwork) will pop up, and I am able to look at other things on my computer while it's loading. For some reason, Captivate's splash screen is automatically layered on top of everything else on my computer, so I have to sit and wait for Captivate to slowly start before I can do anything.

It would be great if the splash screen behaved the way it does in other Adobe Applications. Thanks!

  8. Close Project without closing application (And be able to clear cache without active projects open)

Currently when I close a project it automatically ends the entire Captivate Application. This is normally useful, but sometimes I want to close a project and then open another one immediately, rather than having 2 open at once (2 giant captivate projects open at once makes my computer run very slowly). Captivate takes a lot of time to completely reboot, so being able to go back to a 'Home Screen' would make it easier for me to edit quickly. Ideally it would be like Adobe Illustrator, where you can close a project and it will just show the start up…

  9. hide properties

Clicking the Properties, Interactions, Animations, Audio, and Accessibility buttons switches the panel between them. Can you make it so that when we click the currently active choice, it hides the panel? I keep clicking it, thinking it will, but it doesn't. When I'm working on my laptop though, I often wish for that 20% of the screen back.

  10. Improve the inspector interface by using features similar to other adobe products

All other adobe CC products have a small arrow button interface to allow pixel increments in measurements for everything, including using the scroll wheel in the mouse to increase or decrease numbers. Captivate interface could have the same, with immediate response in the results for precise checking. Typing numbers sometimes seem to be time consuming, especially when you want to change small increases/decreases on different fields.

  11. add layering text on top of images and images on top of text.

I wanted to layer text on top of an image but for the text be more formatted to the right of the image. Even with the workaround and padding, I cannot get my text to the far right of the image.

  12. Ctrl+Z

Ctrl+Z doesn't work in French version. It shows "Save and quit" window, but it doesn't cancel the previous action. We need to clic on Modify Menu and Cancel (Menu Modifier et Annuel").

  13. Touch screens

I know that Captivate Classic never has enabled the possibilities of touch screens, but for an application created from scratch, ignoring this is a pity. Why cannot I rearrange the actions in an interaction by dragging? The Up/Down arrow are not functional to rearrange the actions within one interaction. The old iPad app could use a touch screen, on my Surface Pro I only have difficulties within this new version. I can accept that for the canned templates and blocks, but not for something like actions in an interaction.

  14. Allow Captivate 2019 project files to be backward compatible with Adobe Captivate 2024 Application.

Allow Captivate 2019 project files to be backward compatible with Adobe Captivate 2024 Applications.

Problem: You cannot read Captivate Classic files (.CPTX) with the newer versions of Captivate that use (.CPT) file extension.

    Method:
    1. Open Adobe Captivate Classic 2019
    2. Open or create a new project file
    3. Save the project file, (.CPTX) file extension

    1. Open Adobe Captivate 2023
    2. Open the saved project file
    3. Look for files with .CPTX) 6a. CP 2023 will not allow .CPTX files to be opened (Read, Write, Edit)

Result: Failed to open CP Classic 2019 files with anything newer than CP 2021 that only…
