allow free movement of blocks
The interface using a fixed block-based layout is awful. Jumping through hoops just to design a slide with a video where I want it and a text box next to it.

[Feature] Support for custom slide templates in the Assets panel
Version: 13.0
Problem:
The Assets panel currently allows importing only Adobe-provided example slides. Unfortunately, there is no mechanism to manage and distribute custom slide templates within a team. This leads to unnecessary manual effort and makes it harder to maintain consistent layouts across larger projects and teams.Suggestion:
Extend the Assets panel to allow importing and centrally managing custom slide templates. Ideally, this should integrate with existing Creative Cloud mechanisms.Benefits:
- faster production through template reuse,
- consistent corporate design,
- improved team collaboration,
- reduced redundant work.3 votes -
[Feature] Management of Custom Paragraph Styles in the Theme Editor
Version: 13.0
Problem:
Custom Paragraph Styles can currently be created in the Captivate GUI, but:
- they cannot be renamed or deleted,
- they do not appear in the Theme Editor,
- they are not manageable through thetheme.jsonandcustomisations.json.This leads to cluttered style lists, inconsistent formatting across slides, and limits proper corporate design handling.
Suggestion:
- Enable full management of Custom Paragraph Styles:
- Create in the Theme Editor
- Rename
- Delete
- Expose and edit throughtheme.jsonandcustomisations.jsonOptional Enhancements:
- Sorting styles
- Grouping (e.g., Headings, Body Text, Labels)Benefits:

[Feature] Support for Character Styles for Inline Text
Version: 13.0
Problem:
Currently, Captivate only supports paragraph-level formatting (Paragraph Styles). There is no way to define reusable character styles for quick and consistent inline emphasis. The existing “Highlight” inline element is too limited (no padding, margin, border, border-radius, etc.), leading to inconsistent workarounds and unnecessary manual inline formatting.Use Cases:
- Highlighting key terms
- Inline quotes / badges
- Keyboard shortcuts / keycaps
- Code snippets
- Labels / status indicatorsSuggestion:
Introduce freely definable character styles supporting:
- color, background-color
- font properties
- padding, margin
- border, border-radiusConfigurable in:
- GUI (Theme-Editor)
-theme.jsonBenefits:…

Allow content creators to import .doc or .pdf text to populate a template.
If there were tags that could be placed into a word document that could call for a slide option in a project template, then the program could auto-populate text and images into predetermined slide options. This would allow for a rapid conversion to Captivate files when receiving only text, image and link content from authors.
Many of our authors are accustomed to a particular set of procedures for content development. We need a simple method to take the content provided and convert it to a Captivate project.
If there were <tag>s of some sort that could identify sections of text…

[Feature] Option for automatic display of timeline events (without click)
Problem:
In the current Timeline widget, each event must be clicked manually for its associated content (text/image) to appear.
This interaction pattern is not ideal for all learning scenarios — especially in linear or narrative timelines, repeated clicking can be distracting and offers little didactic value.Suggestion:
Add an option in the Captivate GUI and in thedesignOption.jsonto control the behavior:
- Manual (current behavior): The user clicks each event to reveal its content.
- Automatic: The content is always visible.
- For better user experience: The content appears with a smooth fade-in or motion animation when the event…1 vote -
[Feature] New Widget for Expandable Single Sections (Disclosure / Details)
Background:
On longpages or compact content layouts, there is often a need for expandable single sections for supplementary content such as transcripts, glossaries, or additional information. An accordion widget is overkill for this purpose, as it requires multiple tabs and semantically implies a group behavior.Problem:
- The Accordion widget cannot currently be reduced to a single tab.
- Using a "pseudo-accordion" with only one panel is semantically incorrect and may negatively impact accessibility and user orientation.
- There is no dedicated widget to toggle individual content sections, making implementation cumbersome.Suggestion:
A dedicated widget based on the established HTML5 …1 vote -
Buttons in branding Footer
The footer is a very common spot for custom navigation buttons. Why are buttons not an option in the footer?!?
This should be an extremely simple fix. Just add the button functions to it.

The new Adobe Captivate version does not allow placing objects in a custom order. It only supports drag-and-drop using predefined templates. For example, if we need to position titles, images, icons, or buttons freely on the slide, this flexibility is missing. Currently, all custom design options are limited, forcing us to use only what Captivate provides.

[Feature] Option to automatically unflip inactive cards in the Cards Widget
Problem:
Currently, any card flipped in the Cards Widget remains active ("flipped") until it is clicked again. As a result, multiple cards can remain flipped simultaneously, which can be confusing in many learning scenarios.Suggestion:
Add an option that controls this behavior: When a new card is flipped, the previously active card should automatically flip back to its front side. This setting should be configurable both in the GUI and

Add checkboxes with Select All or Deselect All when editing Table of Contents
When creating courses in Captivate, we often have over 100 slides, but we only want our users to have access to maybe 10 in the Table of Contents. In Captivate 12.6, I have to deselect each slide which is obnoxiously time consuming. The "eye" icon action should be replaced with check boxes with "Select All" or "Deselect All" options at the top.

Personal Asset Library + Personal Presets
I use Captivate and Camtasia. Camtasia has a personal asset library you can build out yourself. Like if you customize a certain effect you can save it as a preset but also if you upload an asset you can save it in your library for future use. Both of these features would be really helpful and save me a lot of time.

Text Drag and Drop
I don't use the drag and drop because currently it is only for pictures. Would be nice to have the ability to have learners drag and drop text to other text.

[Feature] Flexible Overlay System for Buttons, Links, and Slides
Problem:
Currently, overlays in Captivate can only be triggered via bookmarks, and each slide overlay can only be used once. Local, reusable overlays directly on the slide do not exist. This limits flexible interactions and reusable designs.Suggestion:
- Trigger overlays via clicks on buttons, images, or text links, without using bookmarks.
- Allow multiple uses of overlay slides, so standard popups can be used multiple times.
- Custom/Local Overlays created and displayed directly on slides (similar to the "Click to Reveal" widget, but freely definable and reusable). Various types could be possible:
- Dialog or info windows…2 votes -

Allow you to mute project audio on specific slides
When I add background audio to the entire project I cannot stop it from playing on slides that have a video or video grid so you get the music and the video audio. The only way to get around this is to remove the background audio completely. Would be nice to add a feature in the audio tab on the slide to stop the music from playing entirely just on that slide.

The new Adobe Captivate version does not support adding custom navigation elements like in the Classic version. Currently, the header and footer only allow limited customization—such as displaying the course name, page number, and TOC. There is no option to globally add essential navigation buttons like Back, Next, Glossary, or Resources across the course design. This limitation significantly impacts the flexibility and user experience of eLearning modules. Please consider reintroducing the ability to create and apply custom navigation players, as available in Adobe Captivate Classic.

[Bug] Selected tab loses highlight when widget loses focus
When the Tabs widget loses focus, the selected tab is no longer highlighted. The active state should remain visible so users don’t lose orientation.
