An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Lieve Weymeis commentedAfter closing the new Captivate version, and restoring the recommended resolution and display percentage on my screen, I got the control panel back.
Still I consider this to be a bug, because I always capture Video Demo in small parts and due to this problem, I always have to change both for each part before seeing the control panel in the editor.Lieve Weymeis shared this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment Lieve Weymeis commentedThanks for confirming that this is a general 'bug', not related to the keyboard.
The Delete key has always be functional in previous versions, reason why I consider this to be a 'bug'. This new version added already enough clicks to most workflows compared with what we were used to.Lieve Weymeis shared this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment Lieve Weymeis commentedWhich keyboard do you use? I was in alpha/beta and several releases were not recognizing my AZERTY keyboard. Reason: CTRL-Z was 'understood' as 'CTRL-W which will close the project. It was even worse when there was no asking for 'Saving'.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lieve Weymeis commentedJust FYI: if I need to create an interaction in this new version, I first create it in Captivate Classic and use a Preview of that advanced action as story board. But really... it takes so much more time to create an interaction, and moreover I miss Shared actions even more since they are reusable in all my projects and allowed me to have a bunch of user variables just by importing a shared action. Now they need to be created from scratch in each project.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lieve Weymeis commentedI wonder if you are referring to Captivate Classic? Reason for my confusion is your use of the term 'Effects' instead of animation.
It is an old pain what you describe and I use two possible workarounds in Captivate Classic:
1. Use a Fade in transition on the object.
2. Use an advanced action, where you hide the object, start the Effect (custom) and using the Delay Next Actions Show the object a fraction of a second later. -

Workaround found to restore the control panel: Close the Video Demo editor. Restore the resolution and display percentage to the recommended values. I decrease both to be able to capture on my screen. Still I consider this to be a bug, because I now have to change both each time I want to add more recording to the clip after editing the previous part.
