On any long slide, typical for slide video, the project will always open with the timeline panel at maximum zoom. In that case the ticks on the time ruler simply disappear and are replaced by an emoticon. To get the ruler back, it is necessary to custom zoom.
BTW I tried to upload a cpt project to illustrate what I explained but that is not possible.
