The Slide Video block needs to be rebuilt. What is expected is that this behave like an event video since this is how billions of users on You Tube et. al. interact with content on the web. Here is how it could work: Add video block to slide. Select Autofit height - video fills the block appropriately to project dimensions. Any additional blocks added to the slide should respect the autofit setting and not create an extended scroll. Furthermore, all of these settings should be respected in responsive design to each device (Desktop, Tablet, Phone). Lastly, the video should have all the necessary controls to play, pause, scrub, adjust volume, expand to full screen, and return to slide view. These basic and ubiquitous features will spare everyone the clunkiness of the current setup and provide more opportunities for advanced and modern features (i.e. bookmarks in play bar of video). In short, when it comes to video on slides, divorce it from the Timeline and provide the correct composition options and playback features that everyone expects.
