When you want to apply a design option or a slide template, you can only view those features after you have applied them to your slide. Then if you decide you no longer like that template, you have to CTRL Z each time to go back to your original design. A Live Preview would apply when you hover over the design template and it changes your slide design temporarily only for the duration of time that you are hovering over the design template. Microsoft Word and PowerPoint have a preview feature.
