Add a timeline feature to see the audio in the timeline so I could better place my objects.

The audio timeline is there, but it's not obvious where to find it. To find the audio track, you have to select the slide-level object on the timeline (typically grey, with the same title as the slide) and click the dropdown to expand.
Then, if you have slide level audio, you should see a waveform of your audio track as the bottom item on your timeline. For the Captivate Team, if the audio track was visible by default (rather than hidden/collapsed), it would probably make the timeline easier to use.
