12.6 Black Screen
After updating to the latest 12.6, the app sometimes open to a black screen. The 2nd or 3rd time usually opens the program and file.

I ran the "CleanPreferencesWin.bat" per Admin suggestion and the black screen still happened twice within 10 tries.

Can you please try to reset the preferences for Captivate and check the issue again?
Steps:
1. Close Captivate.
2. On Windows OS, go to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate\utils"
3. Run "CleanPreferencesWin.bat"
4. Relaunch Captivate and try again
