Translations from one language to another
A great feature in keeping with the Sneak Peeks we were shown at ALS would be translating on-screen text from one language to another. In Canada, we are required by law to make learning available in both French and English. Automating as many of these processes would be beneficial. A one button solution for an entire project would be great.

Missing default labels
Localisation of quizzes is now a real pain. Another example: the text 'Select an option' in dropdown lists on matching question slides is missing in default labels. Result: you have to translate manually all those texts on the slides when they are created. See included screenshot.
This label was not available in previous versions neither under Default Labels in Quiz Preferences, but it was sufficient to do the translation on the Matching Master slide. Loss of those master slides has big consequences. Translating a quiz takes me now at least 10 times as long as in Captivate Classic. I don't…1 vote -
Translation Back/Next in Preferences
Preferences, Quizzing, Default labels give the opportunity to translate also labels for buttons (not all). Back/Next labels are there, and they are used during Review in all situations, but the translation is not applied. This means, that the developer needs to translate all buttons individually on each slide. Same is the case for all buttons on the Score slide. Since there is no On Enter event for that slide, nor the possibility to add custom states to the buttons you cannot use that score slide when you have question slides in multiple languages in one project. I really hope that…

Export Captions: add slide number and/or label
The exported Word document has become even longer than in older versions due to all the multistate objects. The IDs in the first two columns have never made sense to me but in previous versions the last column indicated the slide number. Please add at least that number or if possible also the slide label. It is almost impossible at this moment to find specific items. The possibiliy to hide the superfluous states for buttons would be a great improvement as well. The document at this moment is not very friendly for localisation, which took many steps backwards also for…

Issues with multiple languages
To translate a course the new version has lost a lot of features which were available in CP2019:
1. In CP2019 all used labels in Quizzes could be edited under the Quiz Preferences. Not only the Default labels, but also the Messages on the Score slide. Now some labels need to be translated using the Properties panel of the score slide.
2. I hope the Export/Import of Prefrences will once be restored and will have all those labels, not only those in the reduced Preferences in New Captivate, A modern application, should even do this automatically.
3. When CSV import…1 vote -
Localisation quiz
There has not been any improvement to the localisation of quiz and score slides, on the contrary. Translation of the Default labels still has to be done manually which is weird for a new app in this world of AI. Moreover since you cannot export the Preferences, Default labels anymore, you have to repeat that translation for each project.
The Press 'Y' in the second step of the submit process should also be translated automatically when creating a project in another language than the language of Captivate.
In a modern application I would expect a choice for the project language…1 vote
