Zooming in should keep focus on selected item
This is an old pain inherited from previous versions. Default view percentage is 'Best Fit' which is great. But when increasing the percentage to focus on a detail (like a button) I tend to select that item first, and expect by zooming in that the selected item is kept in focus. That used to be the case until version 8 or 9, but was also lost in CP2019. It is very frustrating.

{Bug} Random duplication of variables
I created 5 variables to test out the new variable system. I created these variables on a single slide and assigned them to buttons.
I then began programming advanced actions with the buttons on the same slide and I realized there was an entire list of duplicated variables all from the initial 5 that were created.
I did not duplicate the buttons on this slide, nor did I duplicate the slide itself.
- The variables couldnt be deleted until I saved the file and reopened it.

Button States not updating - Even on publish
As the title says - Button states wont update even on publish. The file reflects the changes to the button state, but the publish is showing old text and wont reflect the actual change that's in the file

Bug - duplicating a slide with shortcut CTRL+D
I get an error while duplicationg a slide with several widgets and media objects (just pictures + text and just one short own made quiz, no videos) by pressing CTRL+D on keyboard (Windows OS, Charm Version EN 12.1.0.16).
Duplicating using mouse right click works.

Increase processing speed
I have found the application to be very slow in processing clicks. I am finding that I need to click or double click multiple times to get the application to respond. I am on a corporate network, not a dial-up, so I know it's not on my end.

I hate the layout
I feel my hands are tied with this new version like something microsoft would make. You should have an advanced button that you have more control than a bunch of templates that you can hardly manipulate. Additionally, I'm surprised that you can't import your old work and have to use the classic version which will no longer exist after 2027. Its pointless to use the classic version so I will have to totally rebuild all my training programs. I don't know whos brain child this was but a total mess. Also the tutorials are awful get someone you can understand…

Issue: Buttons, fonts, colors must be set before production
Buttons, fonts, colors set in the design must be set before starting the project, otherwise they are not updated. Can this be changed, so any later changes during production would be updated directly in all assets and presets.

Issue: online connection must always be maintained to avoid crashes
Without staying online all the time, Captivate won't work reasonable. Is there any chance to work offline? It seems there is a sync to APIs all the time. In times of crashing internet access this leads to crashes and unlimited loading bar.

Delete unused items
Deleting unused items keep the source files smaller and makes it efficient for the Captivate app to handle large projects. Please, bring back this useful feature from CP2019.
In the attached image, you will notice the significant difference between the file with unused items and without those items.3 votesThis feature is already available in 12.2 update. "Remove unused Items' option is available under File menu. Please try this & share your feedback. it will help us a lot. Thanks.

Save Button
I would like to suggest a save button be physically present on the toolbar to make saving easy but also as a reminder to users to press it frequently.
30 votesHi All,
We are considering autosave feature. We already have ctrl+s to save the project.
Please let me know in case autosave feature will be more feasible rather than having save button on the top.

Change default formatting for objects
Unless I am missing something, there doesn't appear to be any way to change the default formatting for objects like Highlight boxes, Instruction boxes, etc. Or, to easily create multiple slides with consistant font formatting without manually choosing the same Preset (or custom preset). The Copy Appearance feature is not an acceptable replacement for that ability. I don't want to have to click dozens or hundreds of objects to copy formatting.
