Hint message???
In Preferences, Quizzing, Default Labels there is a 'Hint message' but after in-depth exploring this has no sense. There is no way to activate a Hint to appear, the multistate objects for the feedback messages during quizzing and Review do not have a Hint state at all. Moreover it is impossible to add custom states to any button, including the embedded buttons on quiz and score slides. I tried with multiple attempts on question level, where a hint would make sense from the second attempt, but situation is the same.

Thank you for your inputs. We will investigate this further and take appropriate actions accordingly.

After some reflection it does't really matter whether the state is dimmed or not, since as developer you don't have any control over the appearance of the states at all. It is all embedded in the slide templates. In previous versions you could opt to show a hint or not.
I am on version 12.3.0.12.
I will publish my blog about localisation of quizzes soon, including a sample project. It took me weeks to figure out everything, and I don't think the present workflow is an improvement over the workflow in previous versions. I just hope the promise for using AI will be realized soon. -

Ideally, the Hint caption should not be available for the Graded quiz slides, only for KC slides. I checked in CP 12.3 and could not find dimmed Hint state in quiz mode or in review mode, PFA. Could you please share a screenshot reflecting dimmed hint state for graded quiz slide for a better understanding? Also, please share the complete version of CP 12 on your device.

It is even getting more confusing. I checked the multistate feedback messages in Review mode, and indeed the Hint state was not dimmed. But when I switched back to Quiz mode, I expected it to be dimmed again but that was not the case. Even when hiding and showing the captions again. What is going on?

Sorry, I just succeeded at finding the Hint state, because I suddenly did see the number of states. The state is also available for question slides but dimmed always. It is very difficult to get to that 5th state which is normally not visible, and neither my mouse nor the surface pen succeeded at scrolling down. It is a pain everywhere (scrolling) but more here because the scrollbar and the position indicator (green) is so tiny.
So, there is indeed a Hint state, but you cannot choose to take it out for KC slides? Why is this application controlling the developer instead of the reverse? And why do we not have the possibity to include the Hint for a graded slide with multiple attempts? Sorry for my complaints, it is the professor in me speaking again. -

I double-checked when switching from graded to Knowledge check, but cannot find the option to show a Hint? The multistate object for the messages doesn't have a Hint state neither.
I would never use this version for a Software sim in Training/Assessment mode for reasons I have explained multiple times. A software simulation is in its core NON-responsive. But if you include it in a normal project because you always need to add instructions slides, it becomes responsive. That leads to automatic panning and zooming on the sim slides as well, which is definitely unwanted in training and assessment sims. I am in the first place a pedagogical expert. Moreover why would I need to translate the Default labels for a software simulation, when you already have chosen a language to have the capture captions in the correct language? That is not very user friendly and confusing. Do I need to log another feature request? -

The Hint options should be available for KC slides, and not graded quiz. Also, they should be available while recording simulations in the Training mode. Could you please check that and confirm?
