User Guide: confusing info
In the User Guide, section TOC/playbar this is written:
"Select TOC and playbar in the LEFT TOOLBAR-"
However that button is at the bottom RIGHT on top of the Project Properties.2 votes -
Spacebar as shortcut
In all Adobe applications which have a Timeline, the Spacebar is used as shortcut key to play/pause the slide. That worked also perfectly in previous versions of Captivate, if focus was on the Timeline panel.
In version 12 the behavior is inconsistent, sometimes it works, sometimes not at all. Once you switch to using the Play/pause buttons it looks like you lose the focus on the Timeline and Spacebar will not be functional. Rather frustrating to unlearn the use of the Spacebar after almost two decades.2 votes -
The ability to be able to export as one file is critical
You can only export to a web format, which is fine, but it means the video output is split into many files. I use Premiere Pro to compile my videos, add a title page, etc, and having hundreds of tiny files is difficult to manage, plus they can get mixed up in import to Pr. Please give us back the option to export to a simple MP4.

Bug: Closed Captions Variable doesn't work
If you hide the closed captions by setting the variable $$Project.ClosedCaptions$$ to false, the closed captions can no longer be displayed even if you set the variable to true again. This means you cannot use your own button to hide and show the Closed Captions.

Input Field needs fully resizable option to accommodate simulation screens
The input field needs to be fully re-sizable to mimic a simulation environment like what can be done in Captivate 2019. Now an input field sticks out and cannot be formatted to match the simulated application environment

video webm format support
Today, the only format accepted by Captivate for videos is mp4. The webm format is more compressed than mp4, and would consume less bandwidth from the LMS.

Slider Interaction
Create an interaction where users can use a slider to show information. The slider would be something like what is in the image and can move back and forth a certain number of points. Information would display below it based on where you move it to.

Bug: when replacing video by shorter video, slide duration is not adapting
Using Slide video as only (media) object on a slide. On adding a video, timeline of the slide will get same duration as the video. However when replacing the video by a shorter video, the slide timeline will not adapt, keeps its original lenght. I am on version 12.2.
BTW trimming a video leads to same problem, but causes lot more issues, learned to use Rush for trimming now.2 votes -
Bug: Content width of widgets not adjustable
Some of the widgets cannot be adjusted in terms of the content width. If I use for example the tabs widget (Design Option), the width is preset to 92%. When I change the width for example to 80% the changes are adopted to the widget on the slide. But if change the slide an come back, the widget is agein displayed in 92% although the width value is set to 80%
The card widget (Verticle, bottom text) behaves the same.

Allow W and H fields of Custom to actively change as you manually size an application window.
When recording a software simulation in CpC, the width (W) and height (H) fields in the Snap to: Custom Size option actively change when manually sizing the application window. This allows us to visually verify the size of the application window. In new Captivate, the W and H fields in the Size: Custom option remain static when sizing the application window. (Note: Due to an application / Citrix issue, we have to manually size our application windows when recording software simulations. Simply entering the dimensions in the W/H fields does not work.)

Translations from one language to another
A great feature in keeping with the Sneak Peeks we were shown at ALS would be translating on-screen text from one language to another. In Canada, we are required by law to make learning available in both French and English. Automating as many of these processes would be beneficial. A one button solution for an entire project would be great.

Make default quiz buttons picked up by focus area for keyboard accessibility
The default quiz buttons can be tabbed through with a keyboard, but after you turn the focus setting on, the focus area does not appear on the default quiz buttons-- this means to make a truly accessible quiz you have to use custom quiz buttons. Please fix this.

Hot keys for Radio Buttons
When you do incorporate hot keys, it is vital that hotkeys are available for radio buttons to use the keyboard to select A, B, C, D on question slides, which was not available in Captivate Classic.
