  1. Quick Start Projects in 12.3

    Some bugs:
    Like in previous versions the error 'Missing fonts' which was already present in the first QSPs is still in those projects, even in the new ones.
    You cannot start a project anymore from 'Features Quick Start Projects, only from the new option Featured Project.
    I always believed that those projects could help with understanding Captivate. Why do they never have a description of the user variables?
    I have not watch all projects so far, but I never did see an example of using the bookmarks? It is one of the unique new extended features, why is this not…

  2. Classes for simulation bubbles / Texts / Objects

    When editing simulation bubbles, every bubble needs to be adjusted one by one. There is the need for classes where I can set the design once and rollout these classes to every bubble in the simulation. Like in CPC the smartshapes objects and the format classes.

  3. Integration of fonts.adobe.com for font selection

    Please integrate the font selection of adobe fonts. As in CPC the fonts from font.adobe.com shall be usable in the font selection.

    So the company CI must be fully applicable.

    Of course when publishing a SCORM it needs to be implemented in the user view too, without the need to have the font installed at clients devices.

  4. Fix text formatting bugs

    It's great that there are three distinct text sizes for desktop/tablet/mobile. However, I believe there's a bug with the way these display.

    If a text element contains formatted text (e.g. bold, italics), the break point for the size change seems to happen at a different time to the rest of the text.

    For users, this manifests as seemingly random paragraphs or headings displaying as smaller/larger than the rest of the text (see screenshot, where all text shown has the same style settings in Captivate. The only difference is whether the paragraph contains any words in bold/italics.

  5. Film strip

    When you click on a slide in the film strip can you apply a larger stroke to highlight the slide? It would make it easier to see what slide you are on.

  6. Allow users to create text-based tables

    The only text options are paragraph and column text. Tables can be made responsive, and are a much-needed piece of functionality.

  8. Quiz Slide Enter trigger: restore please!

    In all previous versions it was possible to use the On Enter event of a quiz slide as trigger. Not the On Exit, because that functionality was taken over by the Success/Last Attempt actions.
    I use this event all the time in Captivate Classic. It is even more needed in the new version, due to the many required workarounds. One example:

  9. Advanced Actions

    Please allow us to create advanced actions. For instance, I need to be able to redirect a student who didn't pass the exam to the content. If they pass an exam, I need some JavaScript that will take them back to our LMS. This is impossible in the new Captivate - at least that I've found.

  10. Partial correct caption

    When creating a MCQ with multiple correct answers, there are issues. If some answers are correct, but not all sometimes the feedback 'You need to answer' appears, there is no state for partially correct feedback and I cannot detect how to create it.

  11. Copy/Paste Appearance

    It is impossible at this moment to use copy/Paste appearance from a normal button style to the Submit button on a quiz/score slide. Allow this please, instead of having to repeat the styling for each slide.

  12. cpInfoElapsedTimeMS and cpInfoEpochMS, back please

    These two system variables (their original name) have been taken out. Those were the variables I have used so many times when timing was important in multiple situations. I already got questions on social media where these variables could be used to time something based on a duration. It could probably be solved without these variables in some situations if at least dynamic bookmarks were available.

  13. Resizing bug

    I was using the demo to try to capture demo slides but the application itself would not resize. It cut tools off on the right side so the application became unusable If I used anything except for full screen. I cannot use this at all unfortunately :( No demo for me.
    This happened after doing a capture however once the bug appeared it just happened even opening the app without a project.

  16. Open up the Bookmark-Overlay Option to include Graded Question Slides

    It would significantly add so much if the overlay pre-built question slide could be either a knowledge check or a graded quiz that is reportable to the LMS. Using this feature in a final assessment (rather than the Preliminary/Introduction/Review portion of an eLearning course) could add some much dimension to an eLearning Final Assessment.

  17. BUG Can't input Japanese

    When I try to enter Japanese into a slide, the characters I type are entered twice, and I can only enter the alphabet except for vowels.
    You can enter Japanese by copying and pasting the Japanese entered in another text editor.

  18. Navigation to bookmark on other slides doesn't work

    To replace Micro-navigation by using bookmarks, you can add a bookmark on another slide with Jump to Bookmark. However that is not functional because it always will play that other slide from the start instead of from the bookmark. If this functionality iis only possible for bookmarks on the same slide, the tab 'More Bookbmarks' should be dimmed, not available.

  19. Dynamic bookmarks

    First goal of 'bookmarking' is to enable micro-navigation. However New Captivate can only create static bookmarks. It is not possible to create dynamic bookmarks generated on runtime. This was possible using the Movie Control category of system variables combined with Movie Information variables. Examples for the Adobe forum:
    1. Having a button on a long (video) slide allowing to move to a Help slide, and come back to resume the video where it was left.
    2. Having a button which allows to navigate forward or back for a time segment (like 20secs) on a long slide whenever it was clicked.

  20. widget

    We had created a series of free Widgets (Captivate Classic terminology - not related to widgets in Captivate). The Captivate Classic widget functionality was great, because it allowed us to create a custom UI and include JS to the published file. Our widgets are here: https://envolvemedia.com/custom-applications/#captivate

    A simple example is the Save As Widget. The Captivate developer could use their own button instance that when clicked would just save the contents of that slide to a PDF or Image on the end-users machine.

    Captivate [New] doesn't allow for these widgets. Even creating a "Custom Design" does not support setting custom…
