Issues with multiple languages
To translate a course the new version has lost a lot of features which were available in CP2019:
1. In CP2019 all used labels in Quizzes could be edited under the Quiz Preferences. Not only the Default labels, but also the Messages on the Score slide. Now some labels need to be translated using the Properties panel of the score slide.
2. I hope the Export/Import of Prefrences will once be restored and will have all those labels, not only those in the reduced Preferences in New Captivate, A modern application, should even do this automatically.
3. When CSV import will be released with 12.3 at least one feature will be restored to help with localisation.
4. Allow to choose a language and restore the Spelling control for languages.
5. Please remove the shortcut keys which use glitches localized on different keys depending on the keyboard. Or better, allow to edit the shortcut keys as is possible in most Adobe applications. To translate a course the new version has lost a lot of features which were available in CP2019:

Buggy - Locking up & Unreliable
Captivate locks up frequently on me. Most recently, it locked up during save. When I went back into the program, it no longer had my project listed. The appropriate file within my documents opens captivate, but locks it up with the eternal wait circle. My project at this point seems non-retrievable and will need to be redone. I have to force quit the program. I am running Windows 10 Pro.

Localisation quiz
There has not been any improvement to the localisation of quiz and score slides, on the contrary. Translation of the Default labels still has to be done manually which is weird for a new app in this world of AI. Moreover since you cannot export the Preferences, Default labels anymore, you have to repeat that translation for each project.
The Press 'Y' in the second step of the submit process should also be translated automatically when creating a project in another language than the language of Captivate.
In a modern application I would expect a choice for the project language (in the Theme or in Preferences) and have the app adapt a lot of the labels which now have to be translated manually for each project! There has not been any improvement to the localisation of quiz and score slides, on the contrary. Keep Classic & Call this Something Else
I've been using this software since 2006 and I'm in shock at how many critical features are missing in this version of the software. I'm not even sure how you can call this Captivate. Providing feedback here is is basically adding to the list of features we need that were already available in the Classic version. We need software that is not focused on responsive design. Keep Classic and call this something else.

Bug - Simulation input field in timeline but not visible on slide
Input field not accessible on the screen after closing/opening project. I can access via the timeline but cannot select it/move it on the screen. Shows on output when previewing.

Timeline/Simulations - Show/Hide objects on slide
When working on slides with multiple components (mostly for software simulations), it's helpful to be able to show/hide components on the slide. This is not referencing show/hiding on output. I see that option is available.

Multiple failure captions
Give back the multiple Failure captions for questions with multiple attempts. It used to be 3 in all older versions, but I wouldn't mind more than 3.
Since the captions are now states in a multistate object. But is impossible to add states to this object and even if that was possible, there is no way to address that object with an interaction, since it is an embedded object without ID.
Look at this workflow which I recently demonstrated for a user. The workflow with the failure captions works also in a responsive project with Fluid Boxes, but not in Charm. The highlight workflow works not in any responsive project workflow due to the fact that it needs stacking two objects.
I wanted to upload the output file like in the eLearning com
munity but that is not allowed. Have a look at the blog itself in that case.

Don't gray-out buttons when not disabled
When a UI button has grayed-out text, the assumption is that the button is disabled and not able to be clicked. The states button is grayed out by default and yet it's still clickable. This does not conform to the expected use of this UI design. Don't gray out a button that is clickable.

Review Quiz: why dimming?
When reviewing the quiz, the answers remain dimmed like they are after submitting. Not very friendly for older eyes: light grey on a white background. If you use images as answers, a state is applied to them during Review, state which is not editable because I cannot even figure out which one it is. It looks like the original Hover state, but - since disable has no effect for that state - I always make it identical to the Normal state. Where is the state visibble in the Review mode?

Click and holding playhead
Part of my workflow in Cp11 was clicking and holding on the playhead to preview slide audio from that point on the timeline. I would love if this feature returned. It was very useful when working on the timing of objects on the timeline.

Drag and drop replacement audio
When I drag and drop replacement audio for a slide, I do not receive a warning or confirmation that I'm doing so.

Hover state Image on quiz slide
Great that you can use images as answers. But something is wrong with the Hover state of those images. I dsiabled that state but it appears automatically after selection of an answer and submitting that answer, even if not hovering over the image. Even i manage to change the colors of the Hover state to be the same as in the Default state, the original Hover state will appear after submitting.

Deleting second step Submit Process
The only way to get rid of the feedback messages, a question I often get all over social media, is a clumsy workaround (will post a blog post and add the link here). To achieve this for a complete quiz, you can take out the Default labels, and set the system colors for Success and 'Error' (why do you use that term is a mystery) in the Theme to 0%. But... contrary to previous versions where taking out the feedback messages resulted in getting rid of the second step of the Submit process (click on slide or Y) tthat is impossible in this new version, which means that learner has to click a second time on the quiz slide. That was a very complaint in all versions, complaint is popping up again.
Getting rid of the feedback messages on individual slides, which could be done very simple in CP2019 by unchecking Captions and setting Failure captions to None needs to set the color of the Text message to the background color and and the Alpha of the fill color of the states to 0%. Same result: learner still has to click a second time to proceed. I tried multiple workflows to avoid it (like changing the label on the Submit button) which are just impossible to achieve. The only way to get rid of the feedback messages, a question I often get all over social media, is a clumsy workaround (will post a blog post and add the link here). Make tabs widget buttons look like tabs
Currently there's no way to make the buttons at the top of the Tabs widget actually look like tabs. They can be either square or rounded, but not the rounded-top, square-bottom shape characteristic when people think of tabs. I've had client feedback not to use this widget type at all because their users don't recognise the buttons as clickable, since the first tab of text is already visible -- they just scroll past the rest. In other places in Captivate, there's the option to set component corner roundedness individually. Could we please implement it here?

Feedback captions disappear when duplicating a quiz slide
When the captions are shown on the original slide, they are hidden on the duplicate slide which is simple annoying if you are busy with editing the feedback messages. It is not that intuitive due to the UI to find that Show button again. Duplication should result in an identical duplicate.

captions move when adding new text
Force the caption to use the same font that it's used on the theme or add a caption style in the theme options to set up.

Confusion with Design Options on Slide vs Blocks
The design options are confusing, especially since I think there is a lot of mismatch between what appears in the Design Option properties panel for the Slide vs the Block.
- Add a new Conversation Slide
- Look at the Design Options for that slide. There are four. The first (upper-left) has a green background. The second (upper-right) has the speech cards appear at the very bottom of the images.
- Click on the Block itself
- Look at the Design Options for the block. There are also four. I suspect the are supposed to completely correspond with the design options for the slide. But the images are completely different! The image on the Upper-left does not have a green background. The image on the upper-right shows a different speech block which is not possible to achieve. Clicking on either the upper-left or upper-right design options presents the items as are demonstrated for the slide itself and does not correspond to the preview for the block.
What is the expected behavior for design options for slide vs block in this case? Why don't they match? Why doesn't the Design Options for the block behave as it's properties panel looks?

Videos with Time Markers
Slide Video Blocks [to a YouTube video] is not consiste with start/end time markers.
It seems as if support for the time markers (start/end time) does not work consistently. Here is an example file: https://envolvemedia.adobeconnect.com/p89ko9u5bsij/default/YouTubeVideo_TimeMarkersNotWorking.cpt
This file contains two slides:
- Slide 1 is a Slide Video block with a Web link to a [relatively short] YouTube video. The time marker seemingly starts that the correct location every time.
- Slide 2 is a Slide Video block with a Web link to a [much longer] YouTube video. The time marker never starts at the correct location and is always different1 vote -
In-built states are missing from Captivate 12.2 [at least] for the Image Grid
It's easies to look at this file (https://envolvemedia.adobeconnect.com/pwafpzqrnced/default/builtInStatesLost.cpt) for an example:
- Slide 1 uses the Image Grid and the States for this grid are missing InBuilt states
- Slide 2 was copied from an older version of Captivate 12 and includes the InBuilt states for the same widgetNOTE: This page includes an In-Built States section, even though the InBuilt states are missing from the Image Grid Widget: https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/help/states-adobe-captivate.html
