allow free movement of blocks
The interface using a fixed block-based layout is awful. Jumping through hoops just to design a slide with a video where I want it and a text box next to it.

[Feature] Support for custom slide templates in the Assets panel
Version: 13.0
Problem:
The Assets panel currently allows importing only Adobe-provided example slides. Unfortunately, there is no mechanism to manage and distribute custom slide templates within a team. This leads to unnecessary manual effort and makes it harder to maintain consistent layouts across larger projects and teams.Suggestion:
Extend the Assets panel to allow importing and centrally managing custom slide templates. Ideally, this should integrate with existing Creative Cloud mechanisms.Benefits:
- faster production through template reuse,
- consistent corporate design,
- improved team collaboration,
- reduced redundant work.4 votes -
[Feature] Custom layout slides with freely configurable Design Options
Problem:
New content slides can currently only be created based on predefined layout categories (e.g., Comparison, Meet the Team). Each layout only allows importing a fixed set of Design Options defined in its associateddesignOption.json. Additional components cannot be added, which makes layouts unnecessarily rigid and difficult to adapt to custom design requirements or corporate branding.Example:
Meet the Team only allowsparagraphandimage-grid. Adding an additional paragraph beneath the grid is not possible.{ "type": "Meet the Team", "name": "$$name", "description": "$$description", "designOptionId": "LAYOUTS_MEET_THE_TEAM", "isDefault": false, "version": "1.0", "thumbnail": "thumbnail.png", "styles": [ { "tag": "paragraph", "designOptionId": "MTT_PARAGRAPH_OPTION_1" }, { "tag": "image-grid", "designOptionId": "IMAGE_GRID_MTT_OPTION_1" } ] }Suggestion:
Enable support for custom layout slides, where the correspondingdesignOption.jsoncan contain any components the author needs. This would allow instructional designers to create rich, reusable layout templates for both slide-based content and longpages.Problem:

Personal Asset Library + Personal Presets
I use Captivate and Camtasia. Camtasia has a personal asset library you can build out yourself. Like if you customize a certain effect you can save it as a preset but also if you upload an asset you can save it in your library for future use. Both of these features would be really helpful and save me a lot of time.

A more rodust video player without the need of the video slide.
With the amount of video training and the vast need for playing video libraries inside menus, I would love to see a Video Player, like the existing one, but with capabilities like:
Turn on/off closed captions from the button
The ability to select bookmarks/chapters from the player.
I know some of this can be accomplished from the video slide, but it will be better if it is done from the actual video player. A more robust video player with more options. More like a YouTube experience when young learners can identify better in the video section.4 votes -
Increase number of items allowed on Timeline widget
Please allow us to add more than 6 items/nodes to the timeline widget. An upper limit of 10-20 items on the timeline widget would be more reasonable. I understand that space may be limited with some of the current design options, but changes could be made to accommodate more items on the timeline.
For example, the design for the horizontal timeline could have a scroll arrow added to the screen, to allow users to scroll left and right and see further down the timeline. Alternatively, the design could be modified (or a new design added) to use a dedicated location or an overlay for all timeline callouts. This would allow for more items on the timeline without compromising on the space available for each callout.
Finally, the requested change could be made on vertical timelines (currently, the third design option) without affecting the layout at all. Since users would simply need to scroll further down to see additional nodes/callouts, this change would likely be easiest to implement.

This feature request is based on version 12.6 of the All-New Adobe Captivate, which currently has a limit of 6 items for the timeline widget, regardless of the design option selected.

Fix closed caption importing.
When I import closed captions, it creates captions that say "no audio" to fill all the blank space. This more or less renders the functionality useless.

Editing Closed Captions
When I paste in what I learn is too much text into the Closed Captions area for text-to-speech, I cannot CTRL+X the text I wish to remove. I was able to to do this in 12.5 or earlier.

Allow text / caption boxes to be placed on top of other objects on the screen, like in Captivate Classic.
It would be great to be able to place text boxes on top of video or image elements like we could in Classic. This helps call out specific things in a demo.

Bug: Click to reveal setting not working
When you add a click to reveal and set the setting "Move to the next slide when the widget completes" to on, it never works in the course. I had to add a button to allow the user to continue on in the course. I would also add a "widget complete" variable so I can use logic to determine the status of a widget when I need to add conditions. For example, I only want my "Continue" button to appear when the widget completes, but there is no options to find the status of the widget.

Add the "Show/Hide during publish" option for Widget Blocks
I would like to create an infinite-scroll style course, but the Widget blocks (which provide the bulk of interactivity) can't be hidden during publish.

Add interaction to video grid based on video progress
I would be helpful if we could add interactions to video grid blocks based on user progress. For example, I would like to add an interaction that enables a button, but only after the user has watched a certain percentage of each video in the grid.

Allow more than 6 images in an image grid
It'd be great if we could add more than 6 images to an image grid. The ability to add an infinite number to a single grid would be helpful.

Unrestrict element placement and size.
Currently unable to place button anywhere within the button field. All have to be together within the field, meaning limited design options. Also Icon buttons, should be able to re-size the icon within the button. Elements on screen, such as Text and Image, should be easily changed in size. At the moment, very restricted as to how the course will look. Classic Captivate was ideal as we had free rein over the design.

Ability to undock panels.
Would like the ability to undock and move the timeline panel, or any panel, to a custom location on my screen or to a separate display. Currently, I can only view Captivate on one monitor and when the timeline is expanded I lose a lot of screen real estate. In Cp Classic, I could undock and move the timeline, library, and many other panels wherever I wanted and save that layout for future projects.

Need ability to normalize audio for an entire project at once
I calibrated my microphone but the resulting audio on a simulation project was much too quiet. I want to normalize the whole project at once, not one slide at a time. I watched this video for Classic and can't seem to find parallel menus in the New Captivate. https://youtu.be/cCGwh78J3-U?si=XgXmBqghTNFaLFD5
