Combi characters not accepted anywhere
In previous versions this was a limitation for international users with a non-US keyboard only in widgets/learning interactions. But now it is the case for all text and this really bad. A combi character is where you need to use two keys to get the result, which is the case for most non-US keyboards needing a much larger set of characters. One example in Dutch: when two identical characters are in sequence but need to be pronounced both separately we need to put two points at its top (similar to the umlaut in German): 'creëren' has them on the second 'e', 'naäpen' on the second 'a'. To achieve this you type a sequence of two keys '¨' followed by 'e' or 'a'. In French the '^" needs a similar combi. In this new version those combi characters never appear in any text field This is really very bad. I already posted several bugs for international users. I didn't test this for the software sims, but it appears on all normal content slides and quiz slides.

Combination characters in CSV replaced by Chinese characters
Dutch, like many other European languages has some combination characters. When I have the word 'creëren' in een CSV file, the two characters 'eë' after import are replaced by one chinese character. Too bad that I can't add a screenshot. I used Gill Sans as font. I am able to delete the chinese character, but there is no way to have the second ë with the double points on top appearing in any answer. This is a real important bug!

Confusing Error log after CSV import
Since there is no longer an Advanced Interaction panel to check the total score possible, I use the SUM functionality of Excel to calculate the total score in the score column. I had 7 questions, an empty line and than the sum. When importing the CSV both the empty line and the sum line are considered to be uncomplete questions and you get an error log with a lot of errors, whereas this is not important at all. It is nice that you can override the errors and import. However I imagine that this can be confusing. Not a game breaker, just a warning.

TRUE/FALSE translation in CSV not imported
I try to localise a quiz, and replaced TRUE/FALSE by its Dutch version, sometimes 'WAAR/ONWAAR' or JA/NEE'. However after import to a project, the default TRUE/FALSE replaces the translation. This is a bug. Even for English versions it is sometimes better to have other terms than TRUE/FALSE, depending on the question.

Allow Captivate 2019 project files to be backward compatible with Adobe Captivate 2024 Application.
Allow Captivate 2019 project files to be backward compatible with Adobe Captivate 2024 Applications.
Problem: You cannot read Captivate Classic files (.CPTX) with the newer versions of Captivate that use (.CPT) file extension.
Method:
1. Open Adobe Captivate Classic 2019
2. Open or create a new project file
3. Save the project file, (.CPTX) file extension- Open Adobe Captivate 2023
- Open the saved project file
- Look for files with .CPTX) 6a. CP 2023 will not allow .CPTX files to be opened (Read, Write, Edit)
Result: Failed to open CP Classic 2019 files with anything newer than CP 2021 that only reads .CPT file extensions
Expected: It is expected that CP 2023 should be backward compatible to read Captive Classic 2019 project files.
Workaround: NONE. The suggestion was offered to re-create the entire project again. However, this is not a feasible workaround.

I have inlcuded a screen recording that shows the interaction settings and the preveiw not working.

Captivate 12.3 Quiz Proceeding Error
Captivate 12.3.0.12
Quiz Proceeding Error -- I'm using branching in my project, and when completing a quiz question, the caption appears, and then the slide gets stuck and does not proceed. I've tried so many ways to troubleshoot this without avail. Please advise!Quiz settings:
Graded
Unlimited attempts
On success, trigger is Click/tap > go to slide ____ and adjust variable +1I'm using Chrome, additionally I've tested this in edge and both browsers are up to date. The same error is occurring in my LMS for multiple users.
If I delete the quiz question causing an error, the same error will appear in another quiz question. This happens in the published SCORM file as well as the project preview.
I have tried the following:
Change the attempt number.
Change the type of quiz question.
Delete the entire slide and rewrite.
Change the trigger to point to a different slide.
Change the trigger to remove the variable.
Edit success caption, change position of success caption.
Change to knowledge check from graded question.
Restart computer.
Update computer.
Ensure the browser is up to date.
Worked with my IT department to ensure the computer was completely up to date.
Edit button trigger that points to quiz questions to branch differently.
Etc. Etc. EtcPlease help!
I've attached a screenshot of the quiz question and settings as well as a video of the error occurring. The end of the video shows the question 'greying out' and then not proceeding anywhere.
Don't want to add 'back button' or 'skip button' because this is a compliance training that has branching navigation.

Icon on Carousel widget needs more customization and has bugs
The carousel widget allows you to change the arrow icon shape, but it does not have all of the customization that the svg icons typically have (such as in the buttons). For instance, I wanted to test out something other than an arrow, but when I went back to the arrow, I couldn't flip it. This meant that my arrow was pointed in the wrong direction. I could not fix it without deleting the whole carousel and starting over. Additionally, my client wanted the button much bigger, but that is not possible.
Additionally, I tried to use my own svg arrow, but when I went to preview the slide, the arrow was HUGE and off the screen. I have attached the image. This seems to be a major bug.

User manual to be updated
Some confusing sentences:
At the start 'Launch Preferences' I see "On the toolbar, select Adobe Captivate > Preferences".. A menu is not a toolbar, and for WIndows users (still the majority) you find it under Edit, Preferences. BTW I logged the bug that the shortcut key is not working on an AZERTY keyboard, while the former SHIFT-F8 worked perfectly.
General Preferences, Default locations. It is no longer 'Publish at' but 'Location'. Due to the confusion for many users and problems in the past, a warning message should appear to avoid using the same folder for both and about not using external drives.
Quizzing: it is a pain now to localize quiz messages because they are on multiple locations. I will write a blog post, especially since you still cannot export/import preferences.

isabel.yeo@enlighten-opex.com
The feedback responses in a knowledge/check quiz default to grey text on a coloured background and I have to manually edit the text colour for each state for each question slide.
Even worse it's really hard to get to viewing those states I spend ages clicking around and get there by accident.
Please default it to white text on coloured background, and have a clear button or something that shows how to get there and edit.1 vote -

Exit button action works during preview but does not work when scorm is uploaded to ALM. Have spoken to support, they do not know why this is happening.
Pls fix as now I have to write a sentence on the end screen so that learners know to exit the scorm.1 vote -
isabel.yeo@enlighten-opex.com
No matter what I do, I cannot get the a sentence to center when viewing the scorm file on ALM. ALM forces the file to show in the largest mode.
When previewing the scorm file in desktopm ipad or phone it appears centered. When viewing on the largest setting this happens.1 vote -
Bug: Video slide and 'go to next slide'
If a video slide is created, and then an interaction to 'go to next slide' is added, although the testing in edit mode shows it working, when the project is previewed or published it does not work. The slide pauses and does not advance to the next slide as intended.

Playbar: Add 'Forward 15 secs' and 'Back 15 secs' buttons so that learners can advance or go back within a single slide.
Add 'Forward 15 secs' and 'Back 15 secs' buttons so that learners can advance or go back within a single slide. For example, if a project has a slide video which is 5 minutes in duration, it would be helpful for the learner to be able to navigate back and forwards within that video/slide, similar to the way you can with other apps like Netflix and Youtube.
