1. SCORM Integrity Checks

   Publishing to SCORM can be tricky, and sometimes it can be difficult to figure out why a SCORM course is having issues. I propose adding integrity tools that check your project for common setup issues when SCORM is enabled. For example, if you set the setting so that a completion is getting a 90 on the quiz, and your total score does not add up to 90 points within your project, there is a problem. Perhaps you have 3 retries set, but you did not provide a button, set a setting, or have a path for them to retake the Quiz. Maybe you have it setup that a pass is when you watch 50% of the slides, but your branching is setup in a way that more than 50% of the slides can be skipped.

2. Rename Text to Speech Audio Tracks

3. Hyperlink improvement

4. [Feature] Allow renaming of user-defined variables

   Currently, user-defined variables can only be renamed in the variable manager if they are not referenced in the project. Variables that are already in use cannot be renamed, which limits flexibility.

   Suggested improvement:
   Allow renaming of user-defined variables directly in the variable manager, with all references in the project being updated automatically.

5. Being able to copy and paste images

   It would be helpful if images can be uploaded via copy/paste. Similar to how PowerPoint works, when an image is pasted onto a slide an image block is used. Also being able to copy images to reuse them without having to go through the file pathways to find the image source would help simplify and speed the process.

6. Cache - should ask you to change your default locations instead of being duplicated

   There should be a contradiction in the place in the preferences, where it says 'clear cache' -- the two file save locations -- one is the file location of the .cpt file, and the other is the cache file location. these should NOT be the same, nor should it be an option to be saved in the same place.

   Why you ask?
   Because I had my HUGE module saved to the same location in both of these locations. I cleared my cache. Then... POOF, my entire module - GONE!. Up in smoke. Disappeared.

   Nothing told me I was deleting my entire module. Nothing warned me. Just 1 click, and its gone.

   Recommendation:
   -make it a contradiction so that people cannot save their .cpt file in the same file location as the cache folder
   -make it not possible to delete the project while clearing the cache.
   -implying that 'clear cache' is doing much more than just clearing cache, which is a normal every day thing we do to make things run smoother.

7. This program is unusable in its current state.

   This program is unusable. Assets do not load, especially if you already have a system image loaded. Click to reveal does not work if you change image, or any settings (Something went wrong), Accordion crashes, you can't change image size so even if you have a small image it shows up huge in the slide. Hot spots, image is small and you can only size if horizontally. Slides and pictures resize from the editor to the preview. Its just ongoing. Unless you have a very simple course and you dont want to use widgets this program is basically useless. Going to go back to Classic until it is fixed (I dont hold hope).

8. Increase number of items allowed on Timeline widget

   Please allow us to add more than 6 items/nodes to the timeline widget. An upper limit of 10-20 items on the timeline widget would be more reasonable. I understand that space may be limited with some of the current design options, but changes could be made to accommodate more items on the timeline.

   For example, the design for the horizontal timeline could have a scroll arrow added to the screen, to allow users to scroll left and right and see further down the timeline. Alternatively, the design could be modified (or a new design added) to use a dedicated location or an overlay for all timeline callouts. This would allow for more items on the timeline without compromising on the space available for each callout.

   Finally, the requested change could be made on vertical timelines (currently, the third design option) without affecting the layout at all. Since users would simply need to scroll further down to see additional nodes/callouts, this change would likely be easiest to implement.

   This feature request is based on version 12.6 of the All-New Adobe Captivate, which currently has a limit of 6 items for the timeline widget, regardless of the design option selected.

10. Add checkboxes with Select All or Deselect All when editing Table of Contents

    When creating courses in Captivate, we often have over 100 slides, but we only want our users to have access to maybe 10 in the Table of Contents. In Captivate 12.6, I have to deselect each slide which is obnoxiously time consuming. The "eye" icon action should be replaced with check boxes with "Select All" or "Deselect All" options at the top.

11. [Feature/Bug] Cards Widget: Perspective and mouseover overlay customization

    Problem:
    - The .flip-card-container in the global stylesheet uses the perspective property. This value cannot be adjusted via the GUI or the designOption.json.
    - If no image is set on the front side, a gray mouseover overlay appears. Its color and visibility cannot currently be changed in the GUI or the designOption.json.

    Suggestion:
    - Make the perspective value adjustable in both the GUI and the designOption.json.
    - Allow configuring the color and behavior (show/hide) of the mouseover overlay in the GUI and designOption.json.

12. [Bug] Quote Widget ignores styling and lacks clear component references

    Problem:
    The Quote Widget does not fully respond to styles defined in designOption.json.

    Details:
    - The containers container-quotes-text, slide-item-quotes-icon-container-1, and slide-item-quotes-icon-container-2 ignore custom style definitions and seem to have structural inconsistencies.
    - In container-quotes-card, there are no documented or discoverable component names (e.g., quoteText, quoteIcon1, quoteIcon2), making it impossible to target, enable, or disable these elements within designOption.json.
    - Several layout properties in the global stylesheet cannot be overridden locally within designOption.json.

    Suggestion:
    Document all component names and ensure that each element of the Quote Widget can be fully styled and controlled directly from designOption.json.

    The internal structure could follow the example of the SVG widget, which allows flexible layout control using either flex or grid, depending on the design intent.

14. [Feature] Custom CSS as a first step toward an open widget architecture

    Problem:
    Widget styles can currently only be customized via designOptions.json. Many widget structure elements cannot be targeted or modified globally.

    Suggestion:
    Add the ability to include a custom CSS file at the project or theme level. This stylesheet should allow global adjustments and overrides of Captivate’s core CSS.

    In the long term, Captivate could – similar to the Adapt Framework – offer an open widget system, where custom or modified widgets are possible. Custom CSS would be a useful, practical intermediate step that provides immediate benefits and paves the way toward a fully modular architecture.

15. Make 'Auto Fit Height' include manual Padding Inputs

    In previous updates, I was able to add my custom padding and then select 'Auto Fit Height' to ensure that the content would stretch all the way across the screen, but it still maintained my padding settings.

    Currently, when I check 'Auto Fit Height' and preview, it will remove any padding and press the elements super close together - making it a useless function because there's no breathing room on the page anymore. So what I'm doing as a workaround is manually adding tons of padding so the images/text look centered vertically on the slide. Please bring back the original functionality or add vertical centering!!

    13.1 bug - Captivate turns black after locking my computer (CTRL + L on Windows). Does not reload or open. Sometimes data is lost due to lack of save prior to blackout.

17. have the hand cursor an option you can turn off like in classic

    Hide the hand (cursor) when hovering over the hotspot so I can create a "find the error by clicking on it" type of knowledge check without the hand cursor giving away the location of the right answer.

18. Enabling a border around click boxes

    Having a border option available around a click box would greatly help when trying to draw the attention of a learner.

    Currently my only workaround is to create a highlight box, add a border to that, then place the click box over the top of it.

    Having to do this needlessly doubles up steps needed for a slide.

20. provide better support for xAPI

    When I publish to xAPI using Adobe Captivate (modern and classic), I cannot get it to generate POST statements to my Learning Record Store when I run the content. Spent a lot of time working with my friend Claude to troubleshoot, but no success.
