Bug: Linked PDF will be implemented after first publishing
there is a bug using the action "open URL or File". If I select a PDF from my system and publish the course, everthing is fine and Captivate places the PDF in the output correctly. However when I publish the course again, the file is not included in the dirctory even if no changes have been made to the file.
So if you want to use the "open URL or File" action, you have to select the file again before each publication.

Bug - Cannot submit answers
Here is the adobe forum where I was asking about this and the steps I took to try and correct it: https://elearning.adobe.com/2023/08/captivate-12-unable-to-select-quiz-answer-in-published-course/#comment-353158
I have a quiz with 10 questions. You can see the quiz here: https://app.cloud.scorm.com/sc/InvitationConfirmEmail?publicInvitationId=0cfcc50d-f581-446a-a5e0-b41fc1d3e602
When you get to question 2, you cannot submit an answer. If you close the SCORM Cloud window and relaunch it, you can continue. But when you get to question 9, the same thing happens. If I am in my regular LMS, the same thing happens but the only way to continue is to switch to a new browser. I have no idea why you would not be able to select an answer, it makes no sense to me.

Trigger actions for objects on other slides
I'm writing a conditional advanced interaction where I would be required to Show or hide a paragraph block on another slide depending on the value of a variable. I cannot reference this paragraph block because it's on another slide. This limitation means writing twice as many advanced interactions

Bookmark without interaction
To create a Replay action (one of my most visited blog posts) in this version you need to rely on a Bookmark at the start of the slide timeline. However that bookmark will just be used as target for a Jump to interaction. At this moment it is impossible to have a bookmark without assigning an interaction to it. And the dropdown list has no option 'No action' as was available in previous versions.
BTW when you insert a bookmark at the start of a slide with SVGs, those SVGs will temporarily disappear. You need to refresh to see them again. To create a Replay action (one of my most visited blog posts) in this version you need to rely on a Bookmark at the start of the slide timeline. Bug - Shortcut to move blocks
It would be helpful to move bocks with the arrow up and down. As a default shortcut, it could be Alt+UP and ALT+Down. The drag and drop feature is not always efficient.

Make zoom optional
When you hover over a card, it automatically zooms in. If you've used a headshot image, it's odd that it zooms in on their face. Zoom in on hover should be optional

Deleting item on Timeline
The only way to delete it at this moment is by using the right-click menu. I cannot use the Delete key on my keyboard. This may be due to the fact that I am NOT on a US keyboard, but on an AZERTY Belgian keyboard.

Cannot center the title on the Click to Reveal widget
On the other widgets you can select the widget and choose which components you want to include. If you hover over the component, like the Title, you can choose how you want to justify the text on the widget. You cannot do that on the Click to Reveal, hovering over the component reveals nothing and so the title is permanently left justified. You can center the text, but its still to the left side of the widget. This is the Default design. The other designs do have the title centered, but you should just be able to do it yourself as users may not want to use the other designs just to have a centered title.

layout change request - mobile view
On mobile the widget slider layout does not look user friendly. Navigational buttons should not appear left/right. Because there is no margin/padding Setting, there is no room left for customizing.

Feature request: quiz component missing
Right now, including a working quiz is only possible by using a Quiz Slide. For one-page scrollable courses this somehow works by building it with components (paragraph, option box, button, reporting + including in quiz/points), but takes time and is limited.
More options are missing to share points and set correct answers easily.
It would be great to insert a “full quiz” interactive component, same as by inserting full quiz slides.

Delete unused items
Deleting unused items keep the source files smaller and makes it efficient for the Captivate app to handle large projects. Please, bring back this useful feature from CP2019.
In the attached image, you will notice the significant difference between the file with unused items and without those items.5 votesThis feature is already available in 12.2 update. "Remove unused Items' option is available under File menu. Please try this & share your feedback. it will help us a lot. Thanks.

[Captivate 13] Make widgets more useable, by treating them (and their components) as proper slide objects
Every Widget so far added to Captivate 13 has been a massive step back in terms of usability, customization and user-friendliness. It's like we traveled back in time to 15 years ago. Seriously, since 12.6+ Captivate felt like the worst way to do eLearning, everything is done in the worst, most obtuse way possible, and somehow we lost features that the software had since inception.
Right now, in Captivate 13, if you use a Widget, you're locked out of most actions/interactions/triggers that Captivate normally offers, because they are treated as entirely self-contained, separate feature. Objects within Widget do not qualify for any Slide triggers. Making using them a massive pain.
For example, take Hotspot widget - do you want to add some nice highlights or entrance animations to the Hotspot prompts? Can't do it. At best you can make them appear on timeline. But you can't highlight them for users so that they know they are a clickable item.
Within each Widget, you have exactly one single Trigger - Click/Tap and exactly a single Action - Play Media. Extremely limited. Media that is being played can also overlap with other audio if user clicks them fast enough, and you have no usual access to stop/pause timeline or stop media triggers.
Audio being played within each Hotspot overlay also doesn't have an option for its own captions/text to speech. Meaning you have to pre-record the audio somewhere else, on a blank slide, and then import it. I can go on.
Widgets, by virtue of being completely isolated from the rest of the slide structure, at the moment are immediately a very limiting experience. You lose so many features and capabilities in exchange for some basic animations. You can't do text-to-speech within them as they can only play pre-recorded audio, and that's the only interaction/action you get.
I am seriously going to petition our organization to roll back to Classic Captivate. Responsive Captivate (v12+) feels like a fever dream, where everything good from old Captivate versions has been stripped out, and replaced with frankenstein's monster of removed features, half-baked implementations, and terrible end-user and learner experience as a result.
I don't know, frankly, who in their right mind would chose the modern Captivate software over anything else on the market, unless you have no choice or say in the matter. In the end, this is all about the quality and speed of content you can create, and this modern Captivate is objectively one of the worst ways to create elearning right now. Yes its cheap, but you dont even get what you pay for - you get a barely functional piece of software.
Let's not even mention the constant crashing, the fact that the software still doesn't have auto-save feature in year 2025 and numerous bugs where you can never be sure what you see is what the end learner will see.

Bug - Mobile course layout and view does not match what I'm seeing within Captivate
When we design our courses in Captivate to look a certain way on Desktop, Tablet, and Phone, the published course design/layout does not match what we designed it to look like in Captivate. The mobile views have screwed up fonts and layout and don't appear the same as we designed them to be. What is the point of having the ability to view and design for different devices if that design doesn't carry over to those devises in the end?? I am including side-by-side screenshots of what a specific slide was designed to look like in Captivate and what it actually looks like on a mobile device.

Would like to be able to give audio a custom name, both in the timeline and when exported. "Text to Audio1" not very helpful.

Add speed adjustments to the AI voices
In other programs with AI voices, we can adjust the speed. The new voices are really good, but it would be nice to slow them down or speed them up depending on the need for a slide.

Adding an Accessibility Checker
Having an integrated accessibility checker in the All New Adobe Captivate would be immensely beneficial for ensuring that content consistently meets accessibility standards. It would be nice receive actionable feedback based on key WCAG guidelines, allowing for the immediate identification of accessibility issues, similar to the features available in Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint. If Adobe Captivate could implement this, it would be a game-changer, particularly in light of the new ADA Title II digital accessibility rule about to hit a lot of areas.
