Flip Cards need to allow rearranging of order
The flip card widget needs to allow the user to drag cards to rearrange the order. I am having to rebuild the page, when I should be able to grab one card in my row of 3 and reposition it.

CSV import - numerical character issue
Can't import CSV files if any of the cells START with numerical characters. In order for the import to work, I have to add alphabetical characters in front of the numerical ones. I then have to go clean up the quiz questions in Captivate and remove those letters. It's time consuming and allows for unnecessary errors.

Control the size of an icon inside a button or hotspot
Need full control over the size of an icon inside a button(except S/M/L). You can only control the size of the button/padding arround it.
Need full control over size of button. S/M/L is not enough.
Need full customisation of buttons via import of SVGs, not just the icon inside the button. (This can be achieved by inserting an SVG and making it interactive but being able to create and save new buttons would be much better UX.)

Allow DIVs
As of now, you can select blocks that have two columns for text or an image on one side and text on the other....Just as in wordpress, you should allow DIVs to create columns or rows so we can divide a page into sections and then put whatever elements we want into each section. This is perfectly responsive and is used in a lot of web page development. It would give immeasurably more creativity for design!

Provide regular updates
Please update your users on the future features of the new Captivate and the life span of Captivate Classic. Currently the new Captivate does not come close to meeting our eLearning development needs. With the news that Captivate Classic will not be supported after 2025, we are feeling the need to switch our authoring tool. If I knew what features were going to be available in the new version, I might stay.

Make "Duration" display in TOC optional
Please enable us in the TOC and/or Playbar settings to omit the display of duration for each slide. Slide durations are in many trainings insignificant.

Bring back the ability to embed content with IFRAMES. We still need this capability.
Removing the ability to embed web objects has really caused us problems. We need this functionality. We need to be able to embed documents from remote sources so that they always reflect the most current version of a policy, in this particular use case.

Be able to import PowerPoint slides in the All New Captivate
The previous version of Captivate allowed for importing PowerPoint slides. We need that ability in the ALL New Captivate.

allow placement of carousel widget next to text box
I need the carousel to be next to text, not above or below. Images need to be viewed at the same time as the text is being read (not the same text as the figure caption). I also need much more images than the limited 6 (at least 15).

closed captions
I'm finding that closed captions are sometimes delayed and therefore out of sync with narration or video depending on load times. For example, I have a slide where there is a single asynchronous video and some slide narration. The slide narration takes some time to load and the closed captions are running faster than the narration. Same thing for the video captions. Also not always in synch. I think the slide should not start playing until all the multi media is loaded so that captions, audio and video are always in sync.

Save Button
I would like to suggest a save button be physically present on the toolbar to make saving easy but also as a reminder to users to press it frequently.
38 votesHi All,
We are considering autosave feature. We already have ctrl+s to save the project.
Please let me know in case autosave feature will be more feasible rather than having save button on the top.

Revisit button functions on results slides
After the recent Captivate update, buttons on the results page are not behaving as expected. If users get to the page and choose to review their quiz and then get back to the results page, the continue button no longer performs its action. Another thing that I noticed that I hadn't before, if a user fails their quiz it might be helpful to only provide the review button after their final attempt. If users select the review button before they retake the quiz, the retake button disappears on revisit to the results page. On one hand this is good to…

You should be able to copy the appearance of buttons on quiz slides
You can copy the appearance of virtually anything on the main slides, with buttons being the most common in my case because I want to use a specific font, color, etc. But on the quiz you inexplicably cannot copy the appear of buttons and so now I have to manually set each Submit, View Answer, Back, and Next button on every Quiz slide individually which is a huge pain.

Tabs/buttons initial state
Maybe I'm missing something, but I am not able to initially set the first (or any) tab to "selected". In preview or published, it shows the content of the first tab, but there's no indication what tab it belongs to.
This goes for regular buttons as well - how can I set the initial state to something other than default?

Select multiple question slides and change common properties all at once
In the previous version of Adobe Captivate, we were able to select multiple question slides and change properties common to all the question slides. For example, if I wanted all my question slides to have two tries instead of one, we used to be able to select all the slides and make this change. Now I have to make these changes one by one.

Add a pause button option
Please add the ability to easily add a PLAY/PAUSE button option in variables or slide interactions AND add the option into the TOC. The reason I am asking for BOTH options is that when I have a course that requires learners to view all slides, I need to turn off TOC because it currently allows learners to skip ahead/bypass slides so I need the ability to easily create a button/action allowing learners to pause play on any individual slide. (If I am missing something or there is an easy way to create the button/action - please share!)

Have Continue Button Appear Only if Passing Grade
Presently you can turn on or off all the components of a quiz results slide. I would like to have the ability to turn on or off buttons such as review, retake, and Continue depending on the pass or fail. More specifically I would like to only show the continue button if the student passes and hide the continue button if they fail, encouraging them to retake the quiz.

Open URL or File Incompatible with Share for Review
When I have buttons that open a PDF file using the Open URL or File action, my PDF isn't published with Share for Review. This adds steps to my Share for Review workflow that I prefer I would not have to do.

Save project as a template not just a theme
In Captivate Classic, it was easy to reuse slides from a previous project where you had done the heavy lifting of creating layouts, animations, etc. by just choosing File Save As, to essentially create a new template (and even save it as one) to more easily replicate what you've done in a new project.
I want the same options in Captivate 12 to save the project completely with a new name (duplicate it essentially) so that I can just update and modify content for the new project.
I don't just want to save the colors/fonts/ I want the whole thing…
