TTS - Connect to external speech services such as Azure Speech Studio
Currently text to speech is extremely limited with legacy microsoft desktop and neo speech voices. Competitor products now provide the ablity to connect directly to new-gen neural speech generation platforms such as Azure Speech Studio (microsoft) and Amazon Poly. Ideally, text narrative on a slide could be generated in Azure Speech Studio with the click of a button and the audio is automatically placed in the slide. Currently I have to generate speech mp3 files in Azure, download them, then import them into Captivate which is a slow and convoluted process, especially if minor edits are required and the whole…

Bug - Captivate Classic 11.8.2.254 installs files in root of Adobe folder
Captivate Classic 11.8.2.254 files install to C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe\ folder on Windows 10. Should install to "Adobe Captivate 2019 x64" subfolder. I installed 11.8.2.254 via the Captivate installer after running "Check for Updates" from the Help menu of the previous version. Installation was successful and 11.8.2.254 runs without any apparent issues. Performed the same update on another Win 10 laptop and it too had Captivate files installed to the C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe\ folder.

User Guide: confusing info
In the User Guide, section TOC/playbar this is written:
"Select TOC and playbar in the LEFT TOOLBAR-"
However that button is at the bottom RIGHT on top of the Project Properties.2 votes -
undo button on drag and drops
the reset button is great but an undo option to undo the last thing you moved would be very helpful so you dont have to begin the interaction from the start.

Add extra actions to the widgets
When you add a tab widget it would be nice to be able to add our own actions to the buttons, this would allow us to add our own custom validation or extra text to appear after all tabs have been seen.
I would expect the actions to make the widget would be locked but we could add extra.
Another example would be to use the flip card widget as a way to create a knowledge check or show images if certain combinations are selected.

when the screen size gets smaller the buttons will stack vertically even when there is enough sace for them to be side by side.
when you add a set of buttons they seem to act odd. it sometimes even seems to get the orientation mixed up.
I suggest giving us more control over the orientation of the buttons.

Custom Size: Page Properties/Layout
I understand the need for responsive design and I appreciate added features. With that said, please don't remove features. I would like to be able to control the layout size for desktops. When embedded in the LMS, a scroll bar appears so the learners can not see the buttons without scrolling. Please bring back custom sizing.

Support for Captivate on MacOS Sonoma
It's about time to get Captivate ready for the MacOS 14 Sonoma. In the Syestem Requirements it still says: "Note: Captivate isn't yet supported on Sonoma."

Update the online documentation
Unless I'm being very unobservant, It seems like all the online documentation for Captivate is for the old version. I keep trying to accomplish basic tasks such as changing the dimensions of the project, and am getting nowhere. This is a really unintuitive piece of software.

Hand tool
The typical Adobe Hand tool is available in the new version of Captivate, however it is invisible. Using the space bar (similar to Photoshop and other Adobe tools) you can use it to navigate. It is much easier than the tiny scrollbars.
But its icon button is never visible. Why? How do you expect new users to learn about this tool?1 vote -
Spacebar as shortcut
In all Adobe applications which have a Timeline, the Spacebar is used as shortcut key to play/pause the slide. That worked also perfectly in previous versions of Captivate, if focus was on the Timeline panel.
In version 12 the behavior is inconsistent, sometimes it works, sometimes not at all. Once you switch to using the Play/pause buttons it looks like you lose the focus on the Timeline and Spacebar will not be functional. Rather frustrating to unlearn the use of the Spacebar after almost two decades.3 votes -
Bug: Time ruler disappears on long slides
On any long slide, typical for slide video, the project will always open with the timeline panel at maximum zoom. In that case the ticks on the time ruler simply disappear and are replaced by an emoticon. To get the ruler back, it is necessary to custom zoom.
BTW I tried to upload a cpt project to illustrate what I explained but that is not possible.1 vote -
Customize Default Preset
In all previous releases of Captivate it was possible to define another object style as Default. In this version it is impossible to set another Preset as default. That creates a lot of extra clicking when you want to use the same Preset consistently throughout a project. For texts you can edit the default style, but for other Presets like images that is not possible.

The ability to be able to export as one file is critical
You can only export to a web format, which is fine, but it means the video output is split into many files. I use Premiere Pro to compile my videos, add a title page, etc, and having hundreds of tiny files is difficult to manage, plus they can get mixed up in import to Pr. Please give us back the option to export to a simple MP4.

Bug: Closed Captions Variable doesn't work
If you hide the closed captions by setting the variable $$Project.ClosedCaptions$$ to false, the closed captions can no longer be displayed even if you set the variable to true again. This means you cannot use your own button to hide and show the Closed Captions.

Allow streaming from Wistia in addition to YouTube and Vimeo.
Allow streaming from other video hosting sites. We use Wistia and Articulate will allow an embed from any streaming service. I prefer captivate but we do a lot of video clips and embedding them into the trainings directly make the trainings huge.

Software simulation settings should be sticky
In 2019, when you created a software simulation it remembered size, location on screen and other settings. Now, each time I create a simulation, it asks me for the same details. This means if I have forgotten to take a screen or series of actions, the capture area is not in the same place. This means a lot of messing around to get the capture lining up with the software window. It's incredibly frustrating. Also, please remember the tracking setting! I don't want or need automatic tracking, so having it reset each time is irritating.

Input Field needs fully resizable option to accommodate simulation screens
The input field needs to be fully re-sizable to mimic a simulation environment like what can be done in Captivate 2019. Now an input field sticks out and cannot be formatted to match the simulated application environment
